Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 04.05.2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of this website and to all purchases made from Highland Stones.

By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About us

This website is operated by:

Business name: Highland Stones
Trading address: 49 Carnation way, Red Lodge, UK, IP28 8TW info@highlandstones.co.uk
Email: info@highlandstones.co.uk
Phone: 07450290684

If you need to contact us about an order, product, delivery, return or refund, please email us at [insert email address].

2. Our products

Highland Stones sells natural Scottish river cobbles for interior styling, garden design, landscaping and creative projects.

Because our products are natural stone, each cobble may vary in size, shape, colour, texture and markings. This natural variation is part of the character of the product and is not considered a fault.

We make every effort to describe and photograph our products accurately. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting and the natural variation of each pack.

3. Product suitability

Our cobbles are intended for decorative, interior, exterior, landscaping and creative use.

Customers are responsible for checking that the product is suitable for their intended purpose before ordering. If you are using the stones for specialist uses, such as aquariums, ponds with livestock, fireplaces, drainage, construction, children’s activities or commercial installations, please seek suitable professional advice before use.

Our products are not toys and should be kept away from young children where there is a risk of injury or choking.

4. Prices

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£).

Prices include VAT where applicable. If we are not VAT registered, VAT will not be charged.

We reserve the right to update prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.

5. Orders

When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

Your order is accepted when we confirm dispatch or otherwise confirm that the order has been accepted. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if:

  • the product is unavailable;

  • there has been an obvious pricing or description error;

  • payment is not authorised;

  • we suspect fraud or misuse of the website;

  • delivery to your address is not possible.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund you in full.

6. Payment

Payment must be made at the time of ordering through the payment methods available at checkout.

We do not store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.

7. Delivery

We offer fast and free UK delivery as standard.

Every order is carefully packed and delivered anywhere in the UK at no extra delivery cost.

Delivery times shown on the website are estimates and may be affected by courier delays, weather, busy periods or circumstances outside our control. We will do our best to keep you informed of any significant delay.

Please make sure your delivery address is correct at checkout. We are not responsible for failed or delayed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete address details provided by the customer.

8. Delivery damage

Please check your order as soon as it arrives.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us at [insert email address] as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, with your order number and photographs of the damaged packaging and product.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

9. Returns and cancellations

As an online customer, you normally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods. You then have 14 days from telling us you want to cancel to return the goods. This reflects the UK Consumer Contracts rules for distance selling.

To start a return, contact us at [insert email address] with your order number.

Returns are accepted provided the goods are returned in their original condition and securely packaged.

Unless the item is faulty, not as described or incorrect, return postage is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using a tracked delivery service, as we cannot refund items that do not arrive back with us.

Once your returned order arrives back with us and has been checked, we will issue your refund promptly to the original payment method.

10. Faulty, incorrect or not-as-described goods

If your item is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement or other remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. UK guidance states that businesses must offer a full refund where an item is faulty, not as described or does not do what it is supposed to do, subject to the legal rules that apply.

Please contact us at [insert email address] with your order number, a description of the issue and photographs where possible.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

11. Refunds

Refunds will be made to the original payment method.

For standard returns, we will issue the refund once the returned goods have arrived back with us and have been checked.

Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take several working days for the refund to appear in your account.

12. Multi-buy discounts and offers

From time to time, we may offer multi-buy discounts, promotional codes or special offers.

Offers are subject to availability and may be changed, withdrawn or refused if misused. Unless stated otherwise, offers cannot be combined with other promotions.

13. Sustainability claims

We are committed to responsible sourcing and thoughtful presentation. Our packaging uses recycled, recyclable and degradable materials wherever possible, and we work with carbon-neutral delivery services where available.

We aim to make sustainability claims that are accurate, clear and evidence-based. Any claim about packaging, sourcing or delivery applies only to the relevant part of our product or service as described.

14. Website content

All text, photography, product descriptions, logo designs, graphics and other content on this website belong to Highland Stones or are used with permission.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or use our website content for commercial purposes without written permission.

15. Limitation of liability

We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaching these Terms & Conditions or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for:

  • losses that were not foreseeable;

  • business losses, including loss of profit, revenue or opportunity;

  • misuse of the product;

  • delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or breach of your statutory rights.

16. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including courier disruption, severe weather, strikes, supply issues, technical failures or other unforeseen events.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on our website at the time you place your order will apply to that order.

18. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also have rights under the laws and courts of those jurisdictions.
